The HANGZHOU ADVANCE 120C marine gearbox is a widely used marine transmission solution known for its compact structure, high reliability, and simple maintenance. Manufactured by HANGZHOU ADVANCE GEARBOX GROUP CO., LTD., it is designed to deliver steady power transmission for various types of vessels — including fishing boats, passenger ships, cargo barges, and high-speed craft.
Technical Overview of the ADVANCE 120C Gearbox
The ADVANCE 120C gearbox features speed reduction, forward and reverse clutching, and propeller thrust force support. Because the ahead and astern reduction ratios are identical, the gearbox can be paired with engines of different rotation directions to form either left-hand or right-hand marine power units. It can also be matched with engines of the same rotation direction to create symmetrical propulsion systems.
Designed specifically for high-speed vessels such as fishing boats, passenger ferries, cruise ships, and speedboats, the ADVANCE 120C transmission features a compact and lightweight design, smooth clutch engagement, convenient maintenance, and excellent durability. Its high-power transmission efficiency ensures stable performance even under demanding marine conditions.
120C Gearbox Maintenance Recommendations
- Perform regular inspections. To ensure long-term safe operation, regularly check and maintain the gearbox and its accessories. (Refer to the attached 120C Gearbox Maintenance Items chart.)
- Change Oil. After the gear box’s first 50 hours of operation, clean the oil filter and replace the gear box oil with fresh, clean engine oil. Long-term use of unsuitable lubricants can negatively affect gear box performance. Always use the oil type recommended in the gear box manual.
- Replace worn friction plates. Clutch plates should be replaced if any of the following conditions are found:
- cracks
- tooth-surface damage or crushing
- warping greater than 1 mm
- wear exceeding 0.3 mm
- Recommended overhaul period: 10,000 hours. After this operating time, a comprehensive overhaul is advised to maintain performance and extend service life.
- Storage requirements. The transmission has a 12-month effective storage period after leaving the factory. If stored for an extended period or not used, it should be inspected and properly maintained.
